HISTORY OF AIRINDO

The Indonesian Natural and Spice Extracts Industry Association (AIRINDO), is the first natural extracts and herbs association established by the Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia dated December 22, 2022.

Airindo was formed based on a meeting of 5 founding members, namely PT Borobudur Industri Jamu (Pak Rachmat Sarwono), PT Konimex (Pak Rachmadi Joesoef), PT Phytochemindo Reksa (Pak Patrick Kalona), PT Semarang Herbal Indoplant (Pak Irwan Hidayat), PT Tri Rahardja or Javaplant (Pak Junius Rahardjo).

The meeting was a follow-up to the activities of the National Convention on National Self-Reliance in the Provision of Natural Medicinal Raw Materials, as an Effort to Improve the Quality and Competitiveness of Traditional Medicine Products, which was successfully held on August 4, 2022 and initiated by the Head of the BPOM Agency (Dr. Penny K. Lukito, MCP.)

The Indonesian Natural Extracts Industry feels the need for an association that can overshadow, pay attention to, and be a source of information for all stakeholders about extracts of natural ingredients, so as to support the development and progress of Natural Medicines, Health Supplements, Processed Foods, and Cosmetics native to Indonesia.  

The association has the goal to bring together cross-category business actors with producers of natural extracts that are certified with GMP standards, quality, safety, so that business actors get easy access, especially SMEs.

To create a natural extract industries and spices in Indonesia as a leading industry in the global economy. 

MISSION OF AIRINDO

  • To Establish the Indonesia’s Spice Trail as the center for global spices
  • To become the governments partner in furthering the development of natural
  • extracts and spices with the relevant ministries in Indonesia.
  • To continue discussions with relevant institutions for the reuglations surrounding GMP and the natural extract industries.
  • To continue supporting the development growth of relevant natural ingredients in the application of various industries such as traditional medicine, cosmetics, food and other industries.
  • To support farming communities in Indonesia and support the development of natural ingredients.
